CTE Teacher Certificate Application Process

Secondary Certificate - Less than a Bachelors Degree

  • Complete Alternative Route to Certification Application
  • Submit secondary verification of work experience if required. Word | PDF
  • Submit original transcripts for any college credits completed
  • Submit verification of employment
  • Submit $20 check or money order made out to SD Dept. of Ed. to process application
  • Mail all forms to:
Department of Education
Office of Accreditation & Teachers Quality

Secondary Certificate - Non-Education Bachelors Degree

Post Secondary Credential

  • Complete and submit Post Secondary Application. Word | PDF
  • Complete and submit Conduct Review Statement (from Initial Certification Application).
  • Submit post secondary verification of work experience if required. Word | PDF
  • Submit copy of current PDP
  • Submit original transcripts for all degrees granted & currently completed coursework.
  • Submit check or money order made out to SD Dept. of Ed. for application processing
  • Mail all forms to:
