Pathways to Success is a cooperative effort of the Office of Career & Technical Education, South Dakota Association for Career & Technical Education (SDACTE), SD Tech Prep, and High Schools That Work/Making Middle Grades Work. There will be something for everyone at this conference. Administrators, career guidance counselors, career and technical education teachers, and all professionals interested in preparing students with relevant and rigorous coursework will find something to interest them.
There will be a conference area specific programs for career cluster groups, guidance counselors, HSTW, and administrators on the 2nd. Numerous breakout and small group sessions will help teachers develop solid units of instruction to take back to the classroom. The rest of the conference will feature dynamic speakers and relevant breakout sessions. Our keynote speakers for the conference include nationally recognized Kevin Honeycutt and our own Myron Sonne. A detailed schedule will be posted when it becomes available.
Business and industry, and postsecondary education connections will help everyone learn what employers expect of employees and how secondary Career and Technical Education can help fill the pipeline of workers and prepare students for postsecondary education opportunities.
An exciting trade show is planned that will feature a range of vendors displaying the latest education technology along with products that have become staples of Career & Technician Education. Several vendors will be providing demonstrations of their products as part of the integrated learning environment.
Along with general sessions and breakouts, luncheons, socials, and banquets will allow attendees to develop important cooperative relationships with their colleagues and provide an opportunity to recognize those who have contributed to their disciplines and to the effort to improve education and career preparation for South Dakota students.

Conference Professional Organization Opportunities
Although joining a professional organization is not required, the Office of Career and Technical Education strongly recommends joining SD Association for Career and Technical Education (SDACTE) and/or Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) and its divisions.
Joining the professional organizations will require additional membership fees that must be paid at the conference site, or directly to SDACTE, ACTE or your division representative at any other time. Dues for each organization are listed below:
