Board of Education Standards to meet April 22
The meeting will include the last of four public hearings on proposed new academic content standards for Science and CTE Government/Public Administration. The meeting also will include first readings on proposed rule changes related to: suicide awareness training (moving the verification from certification to accreditation) and educator permits (tentative).

Teacher apprenticeship program to launch 2nd cohort this summer
South Dakota's successful Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway will be expanding, thanks to funding provided by the state legislature. Applications are now being accepted for a cohort that will start this July. The program has room for up to 90 apprentices.

Free educational resources available to programs that serve youth
Professionals who work in out-of-school-time programs are invited to attend Path2Impact launch events across South Dakota. The launch events will provide participants with access to more than 350 lesson plans to use in their daily programming.

MTSS Summer Conference, June 25-26, at Arrowwood Cedar Shores in Oacoma
The agenda includes these topics: Adolescent Literacy Instruction and Interventions and Classroom Management: Addressing Escalating Behaviors. The event is open to any educator; you do not have to be part of an MTSS school/program.

Celebrate South Dakota Week of Work
April 8-12 is South Dakota Week of Work. It's a time set aside to engage in, promote, and celebrate work-based learning in South Dakota schools. The department has a host of resources, including a Celebration Kit, available on the Week of Work website.
